Don’t Get Tuberculosis.

Random Story. It was just a typical day working at the coffee shop, brewing Breakfast Blend and making small talk with strangers. At a moment, my co-worker and I experienced some downtime. It had been a busy day and we were delirious at that time. Someone left a donut on the table, untouched in a deli bag. Rebecca: “Chelsea, do you want this delectable treat a customer left? You can have it all, I’m not really feeling a donut.” “Sure Bec, I’ll take it.” “… But I ammm feeling a Reese’s Cookie 😳” and all of a sudden my co-worker was biting into a half-eaten cookie sitting amongst the pile of dirty dishes. The germ-a-phobe inside me lectured her for a good 5 minutes. Her response: “Oh well, if I have tuberculosis next week, we both know why.” Lesson: Be able to work well under pressure so you don’t become crazy enough to gain the desire to eat off dirty dishes. Unless you are just naturally crazy{like my co-worker} then well, good luck with life and don’t get TB.

Hi, Chelsea here. Welcome to our blog! I guess I will start off by sharing 5 facts about me.

1. I’m a 21 year old college student at Eastern Kentucky University.
2. I’m the kind of person who has to make a list for everything. What I need to do, what I’m gonna try to find on my shopping trip, a bucket list, etc. On my to-do lists I like to write down recently accomplished tasks so I already have something to check off.
3. I’m in love with my best friend Nathan, and we’ve been together for two years.
4. I love working out, but I also love ice cream so they kind of balance each other out. (I’m workin’ on it..)
5. It’s summer and I’m so excited to: spend time with family & friends, attend Reds Games, go to Myrtle Beach, and read! (Of course I have a summer reading list, too.)

Here’s a few on my summer reading list – take a gander if you’re looking for a new read:

Gone Girl – Gillian Flynn ✔
The Great Gatsby – F. Scott
Fitzgerald ✔
A Farewell to Arms – Ernest Hemingway
Love in the Time of Cholera – Gabriel García Márquez
11/22/63 – Stephen King
The Fault in our Stars – John Green ✔
Someday, Someday Maybe – Lauren Graham
Lover’s Dictionary – David Levithan

Happy reading & blogging. Please share any book suggestions you may have!

Summer 2013 Reading Recommendations

Life Measured in Coffee Spoons

First of all, thank you to all my new followers! I’ve gotten more in the past two days than in my entire first year as a blogger, and I appreciate you all so much.

Secondly, I thought I ought to write one last post before returning to North Carolina, the land of spotty internet connections, for the summer. Here’s a list of summer reading and grammatically incorrect commentary that I compiled via request for one of my friends whilst procrastinating for finals. Forgive my fragments and excessive capitalization. My blood caffeine concentration was a little out of control…

1)      Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham- I haven’t read it yet, but it’s Lauren Graham and therefore bestowed automatic hilarity points.

2)      Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro- Ethics of cloning British school children in future dystopia. Obviously. Don’t read it in public though, because tears. Expect departures from the film version…

“Our First Post on Vine.” Not really.

Inspired by the vlog brothers (John and Hank), two friends set out to create a space to stay connected. As working young adults attending different colleges, it’s not always easy to keep in touch. This is our “cyber get-away;” a place to discuss our favorite books, current auditory stimulations, daily happenings…and share intricate photos of our lattes (#whitegirlprobs). We hope that our weekly rants will be of some interest to our fellow bloggers. As Augutus Waters once said, “my thoughts are stars I can’t fathom into constellations.” This is our attempt at piecing our haphazard musings into a cohesive aggregate. Enjoy!
